The route
Cross the Alamedin by the bridge just above the sanatorium and follow the right bank of the river. The trail winds through wide meadows and patches of forest. Around you are birches, rowan and wild rose bushes, with snowy peaks opening up ahead.
The trail brings you to the Quiet River — a gentle stream with shady meadows. It's the perfect picnic spot: spread out a blanket, brew some tea and let the kids run around.
A little bonus
A waterfall hides in a small side gorge just to the right of the Quiet River. It's a short walk, so if you still have energy, it's well worth a look.
Tips
- Bring water and snacks: there are no cafés on the trail.
- Pack a jumper even on a hot day — it's cool by the water and in the shade.
- Beyond the Quiet River the trail is just as beautiful but needs more fitness and time. If you want to keep going, see the Altyn-Tor route.
